Nightlife

Nightlife in Siena is focused on the bars, and in the early evening most of the city converges on those in the Piazza del Campo and along Via Banchi di Sopra. The liveliest events take place from late spring to early winter, when individual contrade (districts) hold open-air dinners to celebrate past victories in the Palio.

Bars: Some of the most popular bars for aperitifs are Nannini, Via Banchi di Sopra, I Terzi, Via dei Termini and Key Largo, Via Rinaldini, which has a little balcony overlooking the Campo. Also worth trying are Il Palio, Piazza del Campo and Caffe Diacceto, Via Diacceto.

Clubs: The main city centre clubs are Il Barone Rosso, Via dei Termini, which doubles as a pub and attracts a young crowd with live music nights, and Il Cambio, Via Pantaneto 48.

Live Music: As well as Il Barone Rosso (see Clubs above), which has live music varying from blues to pop, there is The Tea Room, Porta Giustizia, which has jazz and cabaret, and The Dublin Post, Piazza Gramsci, an Irish theme pub which has Irish and local bands.
